Catcher in the Rye...?
Hmm, a good question wolud be why does holden desire for everything is life to be the same and not to change? How is the library a metaphor for Holden problems. holden is afraid to grow up because he'll lose the innocence of being a child his cycnical views is what drives him to fear the future and the cold adult world. He likes children because they are innocent and don't see cold life the way he sees it. He doesn't want to take responsiblilty at all, instead like the musem, he wants it to stay the same. But when he saw the **** you on the display in the musem, he was angered because he realized that the children who often came there were beginning to lose their innocence and on their way to being a "jerk" like holden describes everything. Hope that helps, did the book a while ago in high school! also look into the song in the book aswell.
