Child support and DIC?
I am a military widow and I am receiving D.I.C.(Dependency and Indemnity Compensation) from the military. This IS NOT taxable. I am due to go to court with my ex husband for custody and he is trying to get my child support raised. I always pay my support, even though my ex keeps my son from me. I have not had my son since right after my husband died, 8 months ago today. But my question is, is D.I.C. held against me as income? Since it is not taxable, do I have to claim it? I have always not only paid my child support but also bought lots of stuff to help his dad and he just wants and wants. Please don't answer this if you don't know, I hate when people answer to get points and just say they don't know or guess. Thanks!
